History

Quill and Press was founded by Albert and Nancy Hogle in 1965. The store was originally 500 square feet and located in west Acton, Massachusetts. Quill and Press outgrew its location and moved to Main Street in South Acton. In 1974 Quill and Press relocated to the present 12,000 square feet location on Main Street. At this time Albert decided to expand the art and drafting department. Both Al and Nancy’s kids, Kathy and Bobby Hogle, worked at Quill and Press thru their teenage and adult years. In 1981 Bobby graduated from Northeastern University and opened a Quill and Press in Stuart, Florida. Both Al and Nancy retired in 1997 and Bobby along with his wife Tina presently run both stores in Florida and Massachusetts.
